The CP-001 New York Yankees Ver. is one of the earliest promotional cards released for Bandai's NARUTO CARD GAME, a strategy-based trading card game based on Masashi Kishimoto's acclaimed manga series. Following the debut of the CP-001 Gen Con 2026 Ver., this edition became the game's first large-scale sports collaboration, pairing the launch of the new trading card game with one of Major League Baseball's most recognizable franchises.
The card wil lbe distributed exclusively during Naruto Night at Yankee Stadium on September 8, 2026, when the New York Yankees host the Colorado Rockies. Presented by Bandai, the promotion will be awarded the CP-001 New York Yankees Ver. to the first 18,000 fans through the gates. This was later increased to 40,000. Unlike the Gen Con version, which required participation in a tutorial session, the Yankees edition was available to early-arriving spectators, making attendance—and arriving well before game time—the only way to obtain the card.
As another printing of CP-001, the card represents the Chakra resource system at the core of the NARUTO CARD GAME while featuring Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha, the franchise's two central protagonists. Its exclusive New York Yankees branding distinguishes it from the Gen Con release and establishes it as a unique crossover collectible celebrating the partnership between Bandai and Major League Baseball.
The promotion also demonstrated Bandai's strategy of introducing the NARUTO CARD GAME to audiences beyond the traditional trading card community. By partnering with the New York Yankees, the company brought the game to one of baseball's largest markets, exposing thousands of fans to the new TCG months before its worldwide release. The event followed the growing popularity of anime-themed MLB promotions and further highlighted Naruto's global appeal.
