The CP-001 Chakra Card -Gen Con 2026 Ver.- is a promotional card tied to Bandai's newly announced NARUTO CARD GAME, a strategy-focused trading card game built around Masashi Kishimoto's manga. Bandai officially revealed the game on June 18, 2026, describing it as a new title designed for the competitive TCG audience and slated for a worldwide release in 2027. The CP-001 card served as the world's first physical preview of the game, distributed well before any retail product existed.
The card was made available exclusively through NARUTO CARD GAME Tutorial Sessions at Gen Con 2026, held July 30 through August 2 in Indianapolis. Attendees who registered for and completed a free Tutorial Session, and who also joined the "NARUTO TCG UPDATES CHANNEL" on TCG+ and filled out a post-session survey, received a gift set containing the CP-001 card. Along with the card, the set included a special backpack, a logo sticker, and a purchase voucher for the NARUTO CARD GAME Official Playmat, which is not set to ship until 2027. Because the tutorial sessions were capped and each person could only attend one session, supply of the card was tightly limited to badge-holding Gen Con attendees.
As the debut card of the entire line, CP-001 carries the title "Chakra Card," reflecting the resource system that Bandai has built the game around. The card features Naruto Uzumaki and Sasuke Uchiha together, making it a fitting introductory piece for a game centered on the franchise's two most iconic characters. Its Gen Con 2026 stamping distinguishes it from any future reprints or alternate versions Bandai may release as the game rolls out to later events.
Following its Gen Con debut, Bandai has planned a global tour for the NARUTO CARD GAME through the rest of 2026, with stops including BANDAI CARD GAMES Fest 26-27, New York Comic Con 2026, PAX Australia 2026, Spiel Essen 2026 in Germany, Paris Games Week 2026 in France, and Lucca Comics & Games 2026 in Italy, ahead of the game's simultaneous worldwide launch in Summer 2027. Given that CP-001 was the very first promotional card issued for the franchise's new TCG era, and was distributed only to a limited pool of Gen Con tutorial participants, it's already generating strong interest among collectors as a historically significant first release.
